Gorgeous, brick bell tower which doubles as a clock tower, looms high over the Lincoln Highway and this small Pennsylvania town.

The tower is huge, about 35 feet or so and has stairs in the inside with windows on the way up to the top. It rises against the left side of the church. Just before the clock top, there are window pairs, shaped like the ten commandments, four sets, all white and louvered. It is topped off with a fancy white, wooden cornice and a weathervane or some such thing sticking out of the top.
This beautiful 19th century church is along the Lincoln Highway and situated at the town's center square. As the lure, popularity and of course traffic grew, so did the church, which was only about 25 years old when the highway first passed through here.
From my previous waymark
Here is yet another beautiful Lincoln Highway site in a small but authentically fifties town. The church is situated on the town's circle or rotary which is the town center or square. There are a couple of these circles to be found in these small towns on the way to Gettysburg. The church, according to the date stone, was erected in 1886. The stone is shaped like a diamond, is white and bears the name and date of the church. The date stone can be found just beneath the front gable and above a keystone over an upper window.
There is also a bell/clock tower which towers over the town off to the left. The entire thing is made of brick. I think this clock tower is the nicest detail of this church. It is simply beautiful. Of course such a beautiful and old church neglected to make a website to tell of their history. Happens every time!
