This post box is a hexagonal Penfold pillar design in excellent condition, complete with finial and coat-of-arms. The design was used from 1866–1879, this particular box was placed some time prior to 1869 when it was mentioned in the Webster's Oxford Directory. The post box is listed as a Grade II structure by English Heritage.
