The University of Management and Economics has campuses across Cambodia. The campus for the Kratie province (located in north eastern Cambodia) is not one of the larger. Kratie province itself is an agricultural area, with a small capital town (10,000 plus inhabitants).

The University is housed in a medium sized building, situated on the Mekong River, and deals with ~500 enrolled students.

When I visited at midday, on a weekday, the university day had broken for a long lunch break (many students apparently go home for lunch), and I spent some time chatting to the staff. They were happy to tell me about their university, and its future. Apparently, there are plans afoot to acquire a new university building to increase enrolment. Best of luck.

The UME is a 'practical' university, its offers courses in the practical areas of: law, business, tourism, economics, IT, and of course, English.
