This mural includes some of the journal entries that the Lewis and Clark Expedition made during their trip thru the Whitehall area in 1805.

Here are 2 parts of the journal entries(from the mural):
"we passed some rich bottoms of cotton timber, where we saw abundance of signs fo Beaver & trees that had been cut down by these animals lately, many which measur'd a foot over..." Joseph Whitehouse, Aug 2, 1805"
