Giant black marble triangle, like a bulldozer blade plowed into the ground and left. Hedges on the ground-border above, and the names of 777 Kansas citizens who were KIA or MIA in the Vietnam War.
There is no sign, no list to find a given name, no identification sign.
Just the Memorial in silent respect.

I found this information on a Winfield Chamber of Commerce web site:
In 1993, Winfield was voted one of the top 100 small cities in the nation. Winfield is home to many points of interest including Memorial Park located at East Ninth and Fuller Streets, just east of the Cowley County Courthouse. This beautiful park includes a Viet Nam War Memorial, which was constructed as replica of the Wall at Washington D. C. The memorial is engraved with the names of 777 servicemen and women from the State of Kansas who were killed or missing in action during the Viet Nam War. The Winfield High School Class of 1963 sponsored this memorial.
