The monument consists of different panels with the names of war dead on them. The panels are divided by war. Above these panels is written: Freedom is not Free. Azusans killed in action.
The first panel is for World War One. It just has the names of the veterans.
The second is for World War II. This panel has a relief cast in metal, depicting scenes from the war. The names are those of that were killed are located below.
The third panel is for Korea. It too has a relief cast in metal. There are also the names listed.
Panel four is for the Vietnam War. It's relief art is above the name of the war dead.
The final panel is on the end. It list two names under the relief work. This is for Iraqi Freedom.
The memorial is slightly curved inwards.
