Captain John Mullan is responsible for the historic Mullan Military Road which ran 624 miles from Fort Walla Walla, Washington, to Fort Benton, Montana. In 1853-54, Mullan was appointed by the US Government to establish and survey a route which later became instrumental in the developement and settlement of the west. This museum houses information and artifacts regarding Mullan, the 1800s and the history and settlement of Idaho.
