On the corner of N. 3rd Avenue and W. Main Street (Route 66), at 301 W. Main, in downtown Stroud stands a beautiful building once the home of Stroud National Bank. This is a one-story sandstone and brick building with decorative arches above the windows. The entrance is at a cut-off corner of the building, and the word "BANK" is formed in stone above the doorway.

The building is currently occupied by the law offices of James Hodgens and Richard James.

In the front window of a building to the west is a replica of the bank building and a copy of The Stroud Messenger newspaper from April 2, 1915 with the story of a bank robbery which took place on March 27 or 28th. This story can be found on this website: (visit link)

This is a beautifully ornate building and has been kept in excellent condition. It is a pleasure to see.
