Only in 1768 Triesenberg has become its own parish. Church and rectory were then donated by Prince Joseph Wenzel, so that was even the first church in Triesenberg with the name of the patron Lord.
The parish church of St. Joseph was built in 1940. A buildig material was mainly stone. With the massive and in Liechtenstein unique onion dome it is a dominating feature of Triesenberg.
