The clock tower, built by T. Smith in 1835, is a brick built structure with a copper roof. The tower was built on the site of the Chapel of St Katherine (built 1336). One of the bells from the chapel (c1510) survives in the clock tower. The canopy around the clock tower is a 21st century adornment by Broxbourne council.
