This sculpture of Jesus holding a child in his lap is located on the south side of First United Methodist Church in Broken Arrow. It is in a beautifully landscaped setting, with really colorful flowers surrounding the sculpture, and a walkway through the middle to get up close. Jesus is holding the small child on his left leg, and holding out his right arm, as if to welcome others. The young child is playing with Jesus' beard.
Text on plaque:
Jesus said "Let the little children come to me...And he took them up in his arms, laid his hands on them and blessed them." Mark 10:14, 16

Biography of Jesus:
In Christianity, Jesus is viewed as the son of God, a messiah sent to take on the sins of all people. He was judged by Pontious Pilate and crucified on the cross next to two thieves. Three days later, Jesus arose from the dead and appeared to his apostles and Mary.
Jesus had 12 followers, apostles who spent their lives with him to learn his ways and follow in his footsteps.
Jesus was known to have performed numerous miracles, some of the most memorable being: turning water into wine, feeding a huge crowd of people with just a few loaves of bread, and healing the sick.
