One of the earliest cemeteries in the area this cemetery is the confirmed burial site of at least two Revolutionary War veterans. Memorial grave stones have been placed for four additional Revolutionary War veterans who died in the area but burial location could not be confirmed.

The two veterans confirmed buried in this cemetery are John Nix and William Biggs.

John Nix was born in 1756 in Camden District, South Carolina. During the Revolutionary War he served during four different enlistments including tours in Amos Davis Company and Captain Thomas Baker's company. He moved to Illinois in about 1813. He died July 12, 1822.

William Biggs was born in Maryland in 1755. In the Revolutionary War he served under Colonel George Rogers Clark as a 1st Lieutenant in the Northwestern Expedition in what is now Illinois. After the war he returned to his home but shortly returned to the Illinois. Settling first in Bellefontaine. He served in the legislature of the Northwest Territory, then Indiana Territory and then Illinois Territory as the territories evolved. He died in March 1827. To read an interesting story of William Biggs (visit link)

The veterans listed below the sites should be viewed as memorial sites rather than grave sites.

Henry Thornhill was born in Virginia in 1757. He entered the service in Rockingham County, Va as a Private under Captain Cravan and then again under Captain Ragan, in the 10th Virginia Regiment. He died in 1835.

Richard Randle was born August 21, 1752 in Brunswick, Virginia. He served as a Private first in the Virginia Militia under Captain John Macklin, Colonel Harrison's Regiment. In a later enlistment he served in the North Carolina Militia under Captains James Allen and West Harris. He died April 15, 1842.

Isham Randle was born March 23, 1758 (stone different date than research indicates) in ,Brunswick, Virginia.
He served as Private in the North Carolina Militia under Captain Crump in Colonel Ledbetter's Regiment. Later served in with Captain Edmund Wilkins. He came to Illinois with his brothers. He died April 18, 1838 (again differing from date of stone)

There is one additional memorial stone that the picture I took is a blur (will return to record that one)

All stones are very close proximity and will be readily identifiable.
