On Route 66, where it make a turn from south to west, just north of Davenport, OK stands a vintage service station. The original pumps are still on the service island and gas was last sold for .539. There is no indication of what type gas was sold, but the Tokheim pumps are red and white, and a painted mural on the corner shows the station in former days, and has a Texaco pump painted on it, which might indicate that this used to be a Texaco station.
The building is in good condition and is currently occupied by the Early Bird Cafe Diner, which sells good hometown cooking in a country atmosphere.
Nailed to the front wall by the cafe entrance are vehicle license plates from Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas, many dating back decades. The oldest we found was from the 1920s.
Address of the station: 615 Broadway Davenport, OK US 74026
Type of Gas Station: Vintage
