Holysov lezi na pravem brehu reky Radbuzy v nadmorske vysce 357 metru, na polovine cesty mezi Plzni a Domazlicemi. Je obklopeno ze tri stran lesy. Mestem prochazi mezinarodni silnicni a zeleznicni tah Plzen - Folmava - Mnichov.

Znak tvori v horni polovine gotickyho stit a v nem je cerne parozi ve zlatem poli, jako symbol zakladatele Tepelskeho a Chotesovskeho klastera ceskeho vladyky Hroznaty a v dolni polovine je zkrizeny stribrny mec se stribrnym klicem v modrem poli, jako atributy svateho Petra a Pavla. Zlata (zluta) barva znazornuje vrchnost, byvaly klaster. Modra barva symbolizuje protekajici reku Radbuzu, pri niz vedly dulezite obchodni cesty.

Holysov located on the right bank of the river Radbuza at an altitude of 357 meters, halfway between Pilsen and Domazlice. It is surrounded on three sides by woods. Town through the international road and rail traction Pilsen - Folmava - Munich.

Gold (yellow) color represents the nobility, a former monastery. The blue color symbolizes the flowing river Radbuza, which led to important trade routes.
