Lincolnway Central High School on Lincoln Highway in New Lenox hosts this original Lincoln Highway Marker. Visitors are invited to visit during school hours, but please be aware of the traffic conditions during arrival and dismissal times.

The interpretive plaque reads as follows:

ORIGINAL LINCOLN HIGHWAY MARKER

One of the few remaining Lincoln Highway markers. Originally 3,000 markes were placed along the highway by the Boy Scouts of America in 1928. The markers symbolized one of the nation's first cross-country highways.

This historic marker was relocated to this site in May of 1996.
