The parish church of Westerkirk is a simple Gothic church built in 1880, with a square tower through which is the main door. Grade B listing.

The church was designed by Burnet an architect from Langholm and replaces several earlier chapels. One early chapel may have been in the old graveyard to the east.

Nothing now remains of the medieval parish church of Westerkirk, mentioned in the early 14th century, or of a church which was built in 1788, both of which probably stood in the burial-ground 70m ENE of the modern parish church (built in 1888)." from Visit Link
Westerkirk was a medieval parish until 1975 when boundary changes occurred. The church retains the name.
Services are held first Sunday at 2.30pm (except January, July and August.
