This station was upgraded in 1998 to a 9 Metre antenna diameter manufactured by Enterprise Electronics Corporation (EEC). This greatly improved the performance of the radar. The elevation of the radar site is 91 Metres with the antenna sitting on a 12 metre tower. The site broadcasts in C band with the information received reflectivity and Doppler data processed Sigmet Radar Data Systems.
8th Ave is quite busy and the station is west of a rise in the road which creates a bit of a blind spot for traffic heading west. To visit this waymark, I recommend parking near the co-ordinates (by the gate) eastbound so that you do not have to cross the road. This site is on private property but you can view the installation quite well from the roadway.
