When it opened its doors on April 3, 2002 at over 330,000 square
feet and a shopping area of almost 120,000 square, it was the largest IKEA store in Canada. It was also the first store in Western Canada to offer the Småland, a new children play area concept.
The store and parking area (includes a 2 floor parking garage) is built on 15 acres.
