At 2426 N. Classen Blvd., a portion of the original alignment of Route 66, is a small triangular building known as the Milk Bottle Grocery.
It only has 392 sq. ft. and stands on an equally small trangular plot of ground, only inches larger than the building itself. The building is triangular because it once stood at a streetcar stop on the old Belle Isle Interurban trolley line which ran diagonally across Oklahoma City.
The building was built in 1930. Atop the building is a large sheet metal milk bottle, added in 1948 when the building housed the Triangle Grocery. Over the years, it has been painted with various dairy-related advertising, currently reading "Braums." The building is currently occupied by Saigon Baguette, a sub sandwich-to-go shop.
The building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998 (#98000199). It is definitely a Route 66 attraction, and loved by all who call Oklahoma City their home.
