North of Tinker Air Force Base, off S.E. 29th Street between Air Depot and Midwest Blvd is a refreshing plot of ground in the newly developed area known as Town Center Plaza. The park is a long, narrow strip of land bordered on each side by Mid-America Blvd.
This landscaped area is dedicated to Charles J. Johnson, City Manager from 1984-2005 who was a leader in the development of this 83-acre retail area. The park area has sidewalks and benches, a granite memorial to Charles Johnson, a lovely fountain and an Oklahoma Centennial clock.
The park is the location for the City's Fall concerts and a Tuesday evening Farmer's Market in the Fall.
