Local river which used to be the source of power for countless mills up and down the banks of this waterway. The water is dark and no longer used to power mills but still used for local farms which still make their homes along its banks.

I discovered this river by visiting various covered bridges which span this water all up and down its run. On many of the sites I happened upon, the water was shallow and there were rocks on which one could walk to the center. I used these common features to shoot many of my bridge pictures. The bridge makes many snake like turns crossing under major highways including Route 222 N/s which I often travel.
Wikipedia says The Conestoga River, also referred to as Conestoga Creek, is a tributary of the Susquehanna River flowing through the center of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; its headwaters rise mostly in southern Berks County (a small area rises in Chester County) and the stream flows from northeast to southwest for approximately 50 miles (80 km) to Safe Harbor along the Susquehanna River approximately sixteen miles north of the Pennsylvania-Maryland state line.
