It depicts general Manuel Belgrano holding the Flag of Argentina, and it is made of bronze over a pedestal of granite. It was finished in 1872 and moved to Buenos Aires, where it was inaugurated on September 24, 1873, at an anniversary of the Battle of Tucumán.
Plaque reads Al Greador de la Bandera Nacional La Asociacion Patriotica Estudiantil "General San Martin" 1812 - 24 Setienbre - 1912.

El Monumento ecuestre al General Manuel Belgrano es una obra realizada en bronce sobre un gran pedestal de granito, que muestra al prócer argentino Manuel Belgrano sosteniendo la Bandera Argentina en actitud de tomar juramento. Se encuentra en la Plaza de Mayo, en la ciudad de Buenos Aires.
Se la inauguró en 1873 y fueron sus creadores el francés Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse (que realizó el cuerpo del general) y el argentino, establecido en Francia, Manuel de Santa Coloma.
