In the plaza at the Ministerio de Defensa in Buenos Aires. There are also several static displays on site. A Sherman tank and several guns.
Type of Memorial: Multi-War Memorial
Wars mentioned (Multi-war only): Malvinas (Falklands).
In Honor Of: Heroes of the Falklands War
Marker Text: A plaque reads as follows:
"El Circulo Militar
A los herors de la gesta de Flaklands
1982 - Junio - 1988"
The central figure of the memorial is a stylized soldier in what looks to be the Art-Deco style. His muscles and strength are readily apparent as he holds his military rifle with both hands. His chiseled figure also projects both military strength and national pride. Disconcertingly, he has a huge hole in his chest, symbolizing the loss of the Falklands/Malvinas Islands.
He looks up into the sky, in a posture of defensive readiness. He is standing astride on two islands, which makes sense since this is a memorial to the war with Great Britain over the Falklands/Malvinas Islands.
