This vertical control mark from the National Geodetic Survey (NGS) is located along the Ohio River Road (aka Route 2) in Lesage, Cabell County, West Virginia. It is 25 meters east of centerline of the road. The mark sits horizontally in a rock outcrop and 1 meter above the ground. An orange witness post stands a half meter away and a little bit above the mark.
The mark was found in a good condition, it has a cross in the middle and its stamping is W331 1984. The station is listed in the National Geodetic Survey (NGS) database with the PID HY2183.

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1984
6.8 KM (4.25 MI) SOUTH FROM GREEN BOTTOM. 6.8 KM (4.25 MI) SOUTH ALONG STATE HIGHWAY 2 FROM THE GREEN BOTTOM MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH IN GREEN BOTTOM TO THE MARK ON THE LEFT, ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF A HIGH TENSION POWER LINE CROSSING, 25.30 METERS (83.0 FT) EAST OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE HIGHWAY, 0.91 METER (3.0 FT) NORTH OF THE SOUTH END OF THE ROCK CUT. THE MARK IS 0.7 METERS SW FROM A WITNESS POST. THE MARK IS 1.0 M ABOVE HIGHWAY.
