In addition to a very large compass rose, there are multiple individual plaques that identify the mountains that can be seen from Council Crest, which is the highest geographical location in Portland at 1073 feet above sea level.
The individual plaques are located in a sturdy rock wall that encircles the huge compass rose, providing guidance to the mountains that can be viewed from this hilltop on clear days.
Mount Hood, Mount Rainier and Mount St. Helens are identified with individual plaques.
