There are about 50 or so of these statues in a two square mile area. This one sits just inside the cemetery. This statue is a standing portrait of General Reynolds holding a pair of binoculars in his proper right hand and resting his proper left hand on the handle of his sword. The sculpture rests atop a tall, square base adorned on the front with a shield bearing the stars and stripes.

General Reynolds has four different bronze monuments at Gettysburg as well as a granite monument. He was killed at Gettysburg in one of the several battles. He is buried in Lancaster, where he was born. He had a long and distinguished military career.
