Cemetery was located about 2 blocks west of the church, off of Hwy. 182 (locally known as E. St. Peter St.). Very large and old cemetery, which features graves of local politicians and leaders. The State Historical marker, at the front gates state:
"Established Mar. 24, 1838. Interred here are F.H. Duperier, incorporator of New Iberia. U.S. Senators Robert & Edwin Broussard, Lt. Gov. Emile Verret, James Beddell, designer of "The Shadows," & other prominent individuals."
