The plaque says, "The city of Mission Viejo honors Daniel J. Santee who died April 14, 2007 during Operation Iraqi Freedom while serving in the United States Marine Corps, II MarineExpeditionary Forces. He will be remembered as a hometown hero who made the ultimate sacrifice for his country."
