Memorial Park Cemetery in New Iberia is a very large cemetery, with at least 1000 graves. Half above ground cemetery, as most cemeteries south of Interstate 10 in south Louisiana are all above ground. Also missing are large family "tombs", again, common in the much older cemeteries. Appeared to have family "plots" instead of tombs. Cemetery is "spreading" across a street that borders the cemetery.
