This statue is entitled "Mystic Lincoln" and is set at the entrance to Jersey City's Lincoln Park on Kennedy Boulevard. It was sculpted by James Earle Frazer who was the designer of the Buffalo Nickel. Fundraising for the statue began in the 1920s- with 25 cent "subscriptions". The final $3,500 was raised by pennies collected from schoolchildren. The statue was dedicated in 1930 and rededicated in 2005. It depicts Lincoln in a pensive pose sitting on a bench. Around the back of the statue is a curved seating area with several engraved quotes from Lincoln, including
"THAT GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE AND FOR THE PEOPLE SHALL NOT PERISH FROM THE EARTH"

The Wikipedia article on the artist has photos of his other monuments- many in Washington D.C. See: (visit link)

"LET US HAVE FAITH THAT RIGHT MAKES MIGHT AND IN THAT FAITH LET US TO THE END DARE TO DO OUR DUTY AS WE UNDERSTAND IT" and

"WITH MALICE TOWARD NONE WITH CHARITY FOR ALL"
