These sculptures occupy a corner outside the Seymour Marine Discovery Center. Elephant seals are native to this part of California; their main rookery is just a few miles north at Ano Nuevo State Park. The molds for the original bronze castings came from the California Academy of Sciences (in San Francisco) and the fabrication for these was done by David Caldwell at Edge Innovations in Alameda, CA.
