Muttenz is a municipality with a population of approximately 17,000 in the canton of Basel-Country in Switzerland. It is located in the district of Arlesheim and next to the city of Basle. The name dates back to a Roman hamled called Montetum, then changed to Mittenza by the Alemannic invaders in the 3rd century.

The town hall is a building of the 1970s, nothing special. It's located just opposite the church St. Arbogast, Switzerland's only completely preserved medieval fortified church.
