SEBREE COLORED SCHOOL
Under Pres. Roosevelt's New Deal, $6500 was allocated to the WPA to build a new schoolhouse. It was completed in June 1938. Ten years later, building was deeded to the American Legion. Post was named for Austin Collins in honor of a local boy who died at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941, on the USS Arizona.
