All along the western edge of Whipsnade Zoo there is a road which gives wonderful views to the west and north.
The zoo's western boundary runs along the top of the Dunstable Downs and is accessible from Escarpment Avenue. There are a number of marked car pull-offs but a short walk is required to fully appreciate the views. The zoo's internal bus service passes this way and views may be had from it, the upper deck is the best.
The view I have selected is from the trees just to the north of the junction of Miss Joan's Ride with Escarpment Avenue. The church in the middle distance is St.Mary, Edlesborough. There are no toilets at this lookout, but further to the north there are some, with a cafe and much larger parking area.
