Behind the ETSU baseball field is a 21-acre hillside forest that is laced with a couple of trails used for both walking and mountain biking. A formal mountain bike race was being set up (caution tape and spray paint arrows on ground) for the weekend.
The single wide trails wind up, down, and around the couple hundred foot elevation change. Some experience is recommended as turns can be sharp and the natural rock outcroppings are exposed along and in the trail.
The forest is mostly oaks, maples, and beeches. The softwoods were attacked by a bore, thus have died and fallen.
