At the northern entrance of Barby's churchyard, this celtic style cross in granite has an inverted sword on the shaft. There are no names on the inscription panel, just the words:
This Cross is Erected
in Grateful and Glorious Memory of
The Brave Men from the Parish
of Barby
Who Died for Their Country
and Those who Fought for Their Country
In The Great War 1914 - 1918
There is a small panel on the west side of the base with the added wording:
Also of the
Second World War
1939 - 1945
The base is set on a small plinth made of the same stone, the whole set in a paved area surrounded by grass. To the right of the memorial is a wooden gate through an iron railing into the churchyard of St.Mary's Church.
