Lombard Illinois is the Lilac Village. The Lilac Festival occurs each year in May.

In 1867, Colonel William R. Plum moves to Babcock's Grove to a 2.5 acre estate. After a 1910 trip to Europe and Russia, he and his wife Helen begin cultivating lilacs. Their estate eventually becomes Lilac Park, which is the site of the festival.
