This giant cross was built in 1996 by Metro Church. Some locals loved the idea, some were very much against it. It is a beautiful white cross located on the I-35 access road, so it absolutely cannot be missed by anyone driving on the freeway. I especially like the shape of the foundation supporting the cross. On the south side of the concrete foundation is a small dark cross. The cross is at the SW corner of the church property.
Metro Church merged with Life Church, so now this is referred to as the Life Church Cross.
It is at 2nd St. and Bryant, at the SE corner. Life Church is a Mega Church, so there is plenty of parking near the cross if you'd like to stop and take pictures.
