This time capsule is located on the same plot that the Campbell County Veterans Memorial is located.
It was dedicated on November 11, 1998 and will be opened on November 11, 2026.
Two area high schools were the driving force behind this time capsule and the memorial: Pollock Class of 2001 and the Herried Classes of 1999-2003.
This capsule celebrates the lives and service of local veterans.
The following text is on the cover of the capsule: "THIS MEMORIAL IS DEDICATED TO THE MEN AND WOMEN OF THE ARMED FORCES OF AMERICA WHO SERVED THEIR COUNTRY IN BOTH WAR AND PEACE. THEIR SACRIFICES IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THEIR PATRIOTIC DUTY WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN. LET US PRAY THAT THERE WILL ALWAYS BE BRAVE PERSONS OF HONOR, WHO IF NEEDED WILL STEP FORWARD TO ANSWER THE DUTY CALL TO PRESERVE AMERICA AND ITS FREEDOMS. WITHIN THIS VAULT LIE TAPED INTERVIEWS WITH VETERANS AND OTHER DOCUMENTS. THIS VAULT WILL BE OPENED ON NOVEMBER 11, 2026.
