This bell is located in the area where the Veterans Memorial is located. On the main street (Elk Street) of Elkton, SD.

Located in eastern Brookings County, just west of the Minnesota border, Elkton has a population of 655, as of July 2009. This shows a 3% decrease in population from the 2000 census. Some of the rural residents of Elkton have a Minnesota address.

The town was incorporated on Marcy 21, 1908, and was originally settled by German, Irish, Norwegian, Dutch, and Swedish immigrants.

The City of Elkton is located just 20 minutes east of Brookings. It is located off exit #127, head east 14 miles. This small community has a volunteer fire department and ambulance, contract law enforcement, churches, civic organizations, a strong academic and athletic school, a school/community library, a museum, park and playgrounds, locally owned bank, grocery store, convenience stores, clinics, restaurant and other businesses to fulfill your needs.
