West Paden and East Paden Covered Bridges are better known as The Twin Bridges, since they stand next to each other in Twin Bridge County Park.
West Paden and its sister bridge (East Paden)were both constructed in 1850 by W. C. Pennington, and are named after John Paden who owned a nearby sawmill.
The two bridges were closed to foot traffic only in 1963 when a new bridge bypassed the two Paden bridges, and today the Twin Bridge County Park was created at their present site.
In June of 2006 the West Paden Covered Bridge was completely demolished and washed downstrem by a severe flood, and due to many concerned people, the bridge was reconstructed in 2008.
