The text on the sign reads:

"Bear Resemblance
There are many clues to help you recognize which types of bears are nearby.

The Three Bears
Brown, black and polar bears live in Alaska. Brown bears occur throughout most of Alaska. In Alaska's interior, they are called grizzley bears, and are smaller and lighter brown. Black bears are found in the forested areas of Alaska. Polar bears live along the arctic coast and will never be seen here. That leaves black and brown bears in this neighborhood.

Clues
Black and brown bears can be readily distinguished by their profiles. Black bears have Roman noses while browns are more dish faced. Brown bears have a noticable muscular hump at their shoulders giving them their strength to unearth ground squirrels from deep within their burrows. Look for these excavations. Tracks provide another clue. Brown bear feet can average twice the size of black bear feet."
