Hydroelectric dam on the Mississippi River in downtown Little Falls, MN. The dam was completed in 1888 and stands 24 feet high with a width of 830 feet.
In May of 2009 the dam experienced excessive flooding and was thougth to be in danger. This occurred again in 2010 with large ice floes jarring the dam, it is now being fortified.
There is a beautiful viewing spot and parking pullover at the dam on the east side. You can get so close you can feel the spray of the water.
