The Pele Tower is now in the hands of English Heritage, who have replaced the windows and doors with oak. Inside the beams are exposed, as there are no floor boards. Some beams have been replaced with notches ready to accept new floor joists. In one corner is a stone staircase leading to the next floor.
There was a grander building here, shown by lines of stones where the walls were.
