Take highway 14 west from Sheridan Wyoming (The falls are approximately 70 miles from Sheridan) This is a gorgeous drive. Take a minute to stop at Little Bald Mountain Lookout on the way. You should be able to get cell phone service at this lookout. About 3 miles after the look out turn right on forest road 14. This gravel road can be traveled with a car. Go approximately 8 miles to the Bucking Mule Falls Trail Head (N44.53.445 W107.54.614). You can park here and get water. It is a 2.3 mile walk to the falls from the trail head. You will come to the falls lookout,(the coordinates for this waymark is the lookout) which is across the canyon from the falls. You will be well above the falls. You could wear tennis shoes but I would recommend hiking boots because there are so many other places to see in this area that require boots. Pack a lunch and take you time. Expect a lot of vertical change, I mean a lot! This is the mountians so be certain you are prepared. T-storms are common, generally later in the afternoon but you can expect them at anytime. If you are a technical mountain biker you might want to try this. The trail is wide for a mountian trail. Check out the elevation changes at the trailhead to see if you can handle it.
