In Boston, at the edge of the Downtown section of the city, is a 'firehouse' that is at the base of a tall office or residential building. The stations has a view of the new Rose Kennedy Greenway and can be viewed from several places around it. Purchase Street is a one way road (southbound) defines the greenway on the west side and Atlantic Avenue is a one way road (northbound) that defines it on the north side. Four garage doors open out to Purchase Street, and the entire entrance is one large cavernous opening where fire fighters can be seen around.
The station is home to Engine No. 10, Rescue No. 1, and Tower Ladder No. 3. Also, the Division 1 (out of 2) Headquarters is at this location.
The building is part of the 125 High Street Tower and was built some time in the early 2000s.
