This scenic pull-off area is located on westbound I-70 (there is a similar pull-off for eastbound). The area includes parking for passenger vehicles as well as large tractor-trailer rigs. There are benches to rest and a dual Summit Peak identification map and 'You are here' map. Dillon Reservoir is visible directly south with the various mountain summits of Summit County. The area is being devastated by pine beetle-kill with many large areas of bright-rust colored dead pine trees among those that have not yet succumbed. Eventually, the pine beetles will kill all the pine tress on these mountains.
The original town of Dillon is under the reservoir.
