This large fire station is at the entrance to Copper Mountain ski resort area. It features a Smokey Bear fire danger sign and shares the building with the municipal offices of Copper Mountain (Copper is not a town; it is a corporate resort area). The doors of the station are huge and there is a plethora of equipment inside. The firefighters and EMTs handle emergencies on the ski slopes; accidents on the roads and main highway; lost and injured hikers; hunters and fishers; wildfires; and drunken parties in the condos and hotels!
Currently there are eight paid staff members and 24 volunteers. (
