Leslie Levine-James works with students with specific
learning and remedial needs, and also teaches study skills and
compensatory strategies to help all students achieve more academic
success. The grade level curriculum addresses reading
comprehension and written expression, as well as organizational
and study skills. Mrs. Levine-James is dual certified in special
and regular education, has a master’s degree and doctoral
credits in curriculum development. Her strong background
in reading instruction includes comprehension strategies and
decoding methods. She is certified in the Orton-Gillingham
method, an intensive multi-sensory approach to decoding and
encoding appropriate for students who have difficulty learning
to read using traditional methods. Her expertise includes
work with learning disabilities, Attention Deficit Disorder, and
alternative learning styles.
