This memorial is located in a grassy area east of the 45th Infantry Division Museum located on N.E. 36th Street, just east of Martin Luther King Blvd.
The area has many specific war memorials for various units who fought for their country, as well as displays of aircraft, artillery and military ground equipment.
This monument honoring Company G, 179th Infantry Regiment is made of gray granite and reads:
"Company G
179th Infantry Regiment
45th
Infantry Division
Korean War
In honor of those who served
and those who died
Freedom is not free"
It has the Thunderbird emblem of the 45th Infantry Division, as well as an Indian shield wth the words "In omnia paratus" which means 'Prepared for all things.'
